Al Freeman
Senior Managing Director
Director of Research
"We use institutional processes, honed with years of experience, to develop and manage our clients’ portfolios. In doing so, we do our own research and implement our own custom-built investment ranking system."
Al was previously a Senior Portfolio Manager at Diamond Capital Management, the investment management subsidiary of Dow Chemical’s pension fund and captive reinsurance company with over $10 billion in assets. In addition to directly managing $650 million in fund assets and performing extensive fundamental research, Al developed and implemented both quantitative and technical methodologies for portfolio management. His other responsibilities included orchestrating the analyst team’s efforts, selecting securities, conceptualizing the strategic outlook, and participating in external manager and asset allocation decisions. Al formerly served as a Portfolio Manager at Feldman Securities Group in Chicago, managing individual trust portfolios as well as contributing to the firm’s strategic asset allocation and security selection processes. He began his career as a Financial Consultant with what is now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, developing and managing portfolios for high net worth individuals.
Al graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with a dual emphasis in Finance and Marketing.
